Katie’s good eats and wii-fun

Sarah and I eat out together at all of IU’s fine places to dine. Wright is a good place to eat if you’re in the Central Neighborhood. They have lots of different stations you can choose from – I love Sbarro and their salad bar has every topping you could ever want.
Over the weekend, my [...]

The Week the Moon Becomes Full

On Tuesday the 23rd, two of my floormates and I discovered a praying mantis  which was dying to have its photo taken on the courtyard of Collins Edmondson.

On Wednesday the 24th, McKinsey & Company held an information session at the Kelly School of Business. Many brought their résume and were keen on getting to know [...]

“So You Think You Can Dance?”

Eigenmann just held a program called “So You Think You Can Dance?”  It involved teaching a few different dance genres such as salsa and belly dancing.  Over all, everyone had fun and got to move it to some fun music.  We had music and dance..add free food and you’ve got a party.  Until next time!

Sunny Days and Starting Classes

The first couple of weeks have been pretty easy and with some down time between classes, I walked around campus.  Being one of the most beautiful campuses in the country, IU is a great place to walk around.  Gorgeous scenery and beautiful limestone are everywhere and just one aspect that makes IU so great.

Katie’s bits of campus and dorm life

Getting used to school was a little harder this time! I came the weekend right before school and missed all of Welcome Week, which I regret. Make sure you always come for that! It’s so much fun. But eventually everything in my room found a home and a few walks around campus got me back [...]

First Week Fun

During Welcome Week one of the biggest events is the Spirit and Traditions of IU.  Free thundersticks were giving to every student so they could cheer and show how much they love IU sports.  Several of the coaches including Coach Crean from the men’s basketball team and Coach Lynch of the football team spoke in front [...]

As Mary mentioned, last Thursday (18th Sept 2008), Rev. Jamie Washington held an titillating and honest dialog across race. He questioned our stereotypes and prejudice, especially in our everyday lives. On Friday afternoon, besides the regular tour guide (which you freshpeople were [...]

Root Beer, Tornadoes, and a Talk About Race

Eigenmann hosted a root-beer-pong tournament this past week.  It was put on hold for a short while, however, due to a tornadoe warning.  So after everything was taken care of, students had the chance to relax and enjoy the program.  Also, just yesterday, Rev. Jamie Washington gave a lecture on talking about race.  It was [...]

Katie’s move-in mania!

Moving back to Bloomington is no easy feat when you live more than seven hours away. The drive from Cleveland was long, and unpacking took even longer, but the finished results and being able to see my friends again made it all worthwhile.

I’m not sure we could have packed the van any tighter.

Assembling things adds [...]

And so there were quite a few interesting things that happened over the week.
1. On Friday the 5th, the many Asian student associations and a couple of Asian-interest sororities of Indiana University Bloomington zealously attempted to [...]
