Miss-N-Out

Today I ran by the track to catch a few shots of the Miss-N-Out races.  The weather was perfect and the riders were having fun.  For those of you who are not familiar with the events relating to Little 500, you should check them out.  There are several different events that take place before the actual race to help give the teams a better idea of where they stand and to check out the competition.

Finally Back to Nice Weather

With all the really nice weather we’ve been having, it’ hard to believe that basketball is still going on. The IU women’s basketball team made it to the round of 8 in the Women’s NIT. Traveling to Illinois State, the Hoosiers were unable to get the win, but still had a great season.

Campus is beautiful right now with trees and flowers beginning to show their colors. Students are out walking around campus just to enjoy the warm weather and the great campus.

Katie’s day as a Founders Scholar

Sunday there was an honors convocation ceremony at the auditorium for Founders Scholars. It was a nice little shindig and we got to walk across the stage and shake President McRobbie’s hand!

Hello McRobbie!

Some cute Founders Scholars

Construction & Qualification

It is only the first week back and everything is in full motion.  For one, Eigenmann has some major construction going on next door.  The open field that used to sit between Eigenmann and Ashton is now a massive sandbox for the construction of what, I believe, will be an addition to Ashton.  This is good news for upcoming students and bad for me since it adds another 10min to my walk to class everyday.  Also,  qualifications of Little 500 have already started!  Though today was a mucky, drizzly one, the teams could not have been more driven for their spot in IU’s annual race.

First Week Back

After a great spring break, it was time to get back into a routine. Students studying in the Union and walking around campus were two things that helped to get right back into school. Finishing off a great week, I traveled to Bowling Green, OH on the Win Wagon to watch the IU women’s basketball team get another win and advance to the next round in the WNIT tournament.

A Union Visit

When it gets cold on campus, you couldn’t be more greatful for the campus buses… Without them it feels like a much longer walk than it really is.  Also, don’t forget that they’re free! (pre-paid)

Katie’s birthday bash, chapel time

This past week was Sarah’s 20th birthday, so we had lots of festivities around the dorm. Erin made a spaghetti and meatball dinner complete with salad and garlic bread. Mmm! Then on Sunday I had to go down to the IDS for my first day of copy editing. Since I had extra time I stopped in the little chapel by Ballantine because I’d never been inside before. It’s actually really nice and peaceful. A good place to drop in during midterms.
